Introduction.
Ohso Technical is a Cyber Essentials Certified Organisation. This certification affirms our commitment to enforcing an essential level of Cyber Security by implementing the most important Cyber Security controls. The Cyber Essentials certification has also helped us to successfully achieve GDPR compliance.
The certification process.
To become Cyber Essentials certified, our systems, processes, policies and procedures were fully audited by a 3rd Party Information Security consultant. These assessments were conducted both onsite and externally.
Once the assessments were completed, we were then independently verified to confirm we successfully demonstrated a basic level of Cyber Security and we have achieved GDPR compliance.
What is the Cyber Essentials Scheme?
The Cyber Essentials scheme was originally launched by the government back in 2012. The purpose of the scheme was to ensure that Organisations protect themselves against the most common Cyber Attacks by demonstrating a minimum level of Cyber Security.
When becoming Cyber Essentials Certified, your Organisation could prevent up to 80% of Cyber Attacks by applying the following five essential security controls:
- Secure your Internet connection
- Secure your Computer devices and software
- Control access to your data and your services
- Protect yourself from viruses and other malware
- Keep your devices and software up to date
The Cyber Essentials Scheme will demonstrate to your clients and shareholders that your Organisation takes Cyber Security VERY seriously and you have taken necessary steps to apply the above essential Cyber Security controls.
